Principal

John Paterson is proud to be the principal of Zela Davis Middle School. He earned his bachelor's degree in liberal studies from California State University Dominguez Hills, with an emphasis in mathematics. He also holds a master's degree, in the field of Educational Technology, from Pepperdine University. John began his career with the Hawthorne School District in 2004. His goal has always been to promote the success of all students by maintaining a safe learning environment, where they can maximize their potential as members in a community of lifelong learners and strive to positively contribute to our advancing global society.

At Zela Davis Elementary School, we value every student's ability to achieve excellence in and out of school. We have high expectations for our students and teachers. We strive to provide students and parents with an atmosphere that is welcoming, safe and educationally stimulating. We make it our goal to give students the tools they need to be successful in college, career, and beyond. We are committed to building relationships with students, parents, and the community to provide students with the capacity to become effective members of society as well as agents for a positive change.
